How to Make Taco Soup

Chef Rob Carson demonstrates how to make taco soup. This is very light and rich soup that incorporates different flavors from garlic, bell peppers and tomato sauce. A must try for that cold winter season.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb ground turkey
1 lb frozen corn
1 chopped bell pepper
4-5 cloves of chopped garlic
1 large chopped yellow onion
1 lb fresh salsa sauce
19 oz of chick peas
30 oz black beans
2 cans crushed tomato (28 oz each)
1 packet of taco seasoning
dash of hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste
sour cream
2 tablespoon olive oil
Cheddar cheese
1 packet fritos
1 large saute pan
1 spoon 1 spatula
1 crockpot
1 serving bowl

Directions:
1. In a pan heat olive oil, let it heat and add chopped garlic. Later add onion, saute for a while till transparent. To this add bell peppers and give it a good stir. In another pan heat olive oil and add turkey. Add salt and pepper, stir well. 

2. Rinse the chick peas and black beans in cold water, keep aside. 

3. Drain the turkey and add to the onion pan and cook for a while. Transfer this to a larger pot and add rest of the ingredients. 

4. Allow it to cook for about 45 minutes on medium to low heat and later transfer it to a crock pot. serve hot with grated cheddar cheese, fritos and a dollop of sour curd.
